Izhar brings with him extensive experience in program management, public policy analysis, government & business strategy, and management consulting in industries and sectors which include youth and sports development, property development, private equity investment, digital/tech sector, and Government.
Izhar holds the role as a General Manager with a private investment firm, Kencana Capital Sdn Bhd, and is also the Director of Haluan Fokus Sdn Bhd, a boutique property development firm. In addition, he brings with him strong insight and understanding of the youth entrepreneur community having held the position of Executive Director for Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor (YRMS) and CEO of the Selangor Youth Community (SAY) which are NGOs for youths founded by DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Crown Prince of Selangor. Izhar was also the Vice President of the Football Association of Selangor, where he led initiatives to transform the ailing organization to become one of the top football teams in the country.
In Kencana Capital, Izhar leads the search on investment opportunities primarily in the property development sector and other general investment opportunities. With YRMS and SAY, Izhar led various high-impact projects teams in strategizing and executing multiple programs and initiatives, spearheading the education of youths through technical and vocational training opportunities for the less privileged and initiatives for the youth in finding the next generation of champions from the state. Areas of focus include education, entrepreneurship, sports & wellness, arts & creative, and Community Service.
Prior to Kencana Capital, SAY and YRMS, Izhar also gained strong insights and understanding on the public sector having served 5 years in a government agency PEMANDU (Performance Management and Delivery Unit, under the Prime Minister’s Department) that was tasked to drive the social and economic transformation of Malaysia. He was the Principal Private Secretary to the then Minister in Prime Minister’s Department, Dato’ Sri Idris Jala. His role varied across monitoring and project managing the various programs and engaging stakeholders including foreign countries and governments. His prior experience also included the role of a management consultant in a multi-national company.
Izhar graduated from Melbourne University (Australia) in 2006 with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and subsequently attended Business School in Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) for his Masters of Commerce and Master of Business Administration.
